Did you know there's one thing you can do to improve your wellness?

Did you know there's one thing you can do to improve your wellness? And with all the computer work we do, it's more important than ever. The simple thing to do is ... Stretching.

I know we've all heard it before. I'm just as guilty of skipping over the stretching. But there are 4 basic stretches you can do sitting in front of your computer.

Our massage therapists have a couple simple tips to follow when doing these 4 stretches.

  • Move with slow, focused intention.

  • Don't Over Stretch or push the stretch further than comfortable.

  • Hold the stretch at a comfortable position and breathe in relaxation.

Neck Stretch recommended by Tuscany Spa

NECK STRETCH

  • Slowly turn your head to one side. Arms relaxed by your side.

  • Hold for 5 seconds.

  • Slowly turn your head to the other side. Hold for 5 seconds.

  • You'll feel a stretch along your neck and shoulders. Keeps the neck muscles from getting stiff and helps prevent techie neck.

SPINE STRETCH

Spine stretch recommeneded by Tuscany Spa

  • Breathe out and fold over while staying in your seat

  • Reach your fingers towards your toes (you dont need to touch them)

  • Allow your body to hang loose in this pose. Don't force it.

  • Relax for 10 seconds

Keeping your sacrum on the seat allows you to feel this stretch from your lower back thru your spine and neck.

Wrist to Shoulder stretch recommended by Tuscany Spa

WRIST TO SHOULDER STRETCH

  • Intertwine your fingers, with palms out, stretch your arms forward

  • Relax your shoulders and neck

  • Hold for 10 seconds

  • Roll your shoulders and Repeat

This will stretch your wrists, forearms to your shoulders. If you fingers or hands get tired, shake them out after this stretch.

Back Stretch recommended by Tuscany Spa

SHOULDER AND BACK STRETCH

  • Intertwine your fingers, with palms out, stretch arms upwards.

  • Relax your neck

  • Hold for ten seconds

You'll feel this along your shoulders, upper back and shoulder blades.

These 4 stretches work well at your desk. It's a great way to take a mini break every couple of hours. And rest your eyes.
